The National Finch and Softbill Society offers closed traceable aluminum bird bands to fit the smallest Waxbill to the large Hornbills. Metal bands are available to NFSS members only. Every band is uniquely numbered for permanent identification of every bird you breed. The bands are issued each year in a different color, to aid breeders in keeping track of their young. The metal bands are engraved with the initials NFS, size code, year and number. There is no choice of numbers. Bands for the next year can be ordered in advance but will not be shipped until December of this year. All orders are recorded for permanent reference. Metal Bands are ordered 10 bands to a string, all the same size. New members may order before receiving their membership number by writing "New" instead of the membership number on the order form. Orders are processed weekly as received. Cashier's Check or Money Order will expedite your order. Please, no mail requiring signatures.
NFSS also offers (to anyone), solid colored open plastic bands for identifying and marking sexes, families or individuals. These bands are not engraved. They are available in 11 solid colors and 5 different sizes. The colors available for all sizes include: red; green; white; pink; black; purple; yellow; orange; dark blue; and light blue. Banding instructions and application tool are included with your order. There is a shipping/handling charge per total order (metal and plastic bands can be combined).
